How it’s going for you? I hope everything is fine.
I am fine by the way.
A huge cheers to those who had participated and finished NaNoWriMo 2018. I’ve finished this NaNoWriMo with few days of break in between.
I am ashamed to agree that I promised to post the chapter I’ve written during everyday of NaNoWriMo along with the techniques that I’ve used to write it. But as days progressed, I was finding it difficult to concentrate on both.
So I started to post chapters every other day along with the techniques I’ve used. After some days even that felt difficult. As days progressed, I found it difficult to even write during NaNoWriMo.
Just then I remembered the true purpose of NaNoWriMo. It was to write our novel, no matter what. The techniques I’ve used are kind of repetitive and the chapters that I’ve written needs loads of editing. So I’ve decided then and there that my readers deserves the best, not some chapter and blog posts that I’ve written and force them to post every day.
So I’ve concentrated on writing the novel, taken couple of days off when I felt burned out and by the end of 30 days of NaNoWriMo, I’ve written 52,262 words.
The goal of NaNoWriMo is to write 50,000 words in 30 days. I’ve done more than that. But the draft was still far away from being called as finished. In a way, I both won NaNoWriMo and failed it at the same time.
I’ve won by writing 50,000 words and I’ve failed to write first draft of complete novel within 30 days. I still need to write 14 chapters to finish this draft and it might take anywhere between 14 days to 28 days to finish it. Even if I take couple of days off, I should finish the first draft of Fake Girlfriend by the end of 2018.
It might take one more month to edit it and once it’s done, if anyone are interested to become a beta reader for it, you are welcome. I will put up a link to it soon, where you can sign up to receive the updates.
Once the first draft is done, I will put out into several blog posts regarding the scene and sequel sketch of Fake Girlfriend along with it’s Story Circle for those who are interested to read it. I hope it will help you.
How did your NaNoWriMo go?
I would love to hear them in comments.
Until next time,
Nagendra Kumar Yadav T.
